Zoe wrote a blog post for Fox Spirit Books about "Lost Cities" appearing in Unfriended, her hesitation with the song when first writing it with the band, love, and the truth beneath cheap horror movie scares.
You may have watched our live performance of "Dreamers" back in May, but now you can buy the song on Bandcamp, and listen on other platforms soon!
The Hartford Courant interviewed Zoe Chatfield of Bandshes and Pedro Bermudez of Revisionist Films about the recent collaboration for the Hartford Prints! 2017 Holiday commercial. They talk about the evolution of the band and song, and the importance of instilling local pride through artistic collaboration and local business.
Bandshes give a live performance of their new song, "Dreamers," which will be on the upcoming EP. The performance is set with the beautiful sunset over the riverfront in Hartford, Connecticut.
From the Pioneer Valley Underground:
The Bandshes originally took off with their single, “Lost Cities.” Unbeknownst to them, the song was included in the movie “Unfriended” as the main theme. Once they got the word that they were in, they picked up their efforts as a group and started playing shows all over the Western New England Area and beyond.
“Once You Go” is a melodic ballad that keeps with the minimal sound of piano and vocal harmonies, but with a lot more dynamic to it. “Lost Cities” had an almost haunting quality to it with the lack of volume change that worked for the track (and especially worked for a horror movie). Now, they get a little more Romantic which is perfect for a Baroque Pop trio.
Our summer tour is underway! First weekend of shows in Connecticut were amazing, excited for our next two stops at the University of Saint Joseph in West Hartford, CT on 6/21 and at the Montague Bookmill in Montague, MA on 6/23
Lost Cities reached 900 thousand plays today and Manic Pixie Dream Girl is at 45 thousand! Thank you all for listening. We are so excited to record this summer and share new music with you!
